Glenmede Joins as a Named Sponsor

We are so thankful for their commitment to scholarship and philanthropy.  Through their generosity, we will be able to provide more financial aid to our college bound students.

Lloyd Freeman to Present Etiquette Workshop

Beautillion program founder and chairman, Lloyd Freeman, will facilitate this year’s etiquette workshop.  The lessons learned during this interactive workshop are the quintessential skills that every gentlemen needs as he prepares for college and subsequent life.  During his etiquette workshop, Mr. Freeman will speak to the young men about proper attire, formal dinner etiquette and table manners, chivalry, gallantry and other related topics.  There will also be a demonstration on how to tie the perfect knot for both a straight and bow tie.

Lloyd Freeman is an attorney at Archer & Greiner, P.C. where he practices commercial litigation in both federal and state courts in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  In addition to serving as the chairman of the beautillion, Attorney Freeman is the chairman of the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Burlington, Camden & Gloucester Counties.  He also serves on the board of the American Red Cross, Garden State Bar Association and the Rutgers Law School Alumni Association.

Mr. Freeman has given numerous presentations and speeches in both his professional career and charitable endeavors.  Of note, Mr. Freeman recently moderated a debate among the candidates vying for the United States Congressional seat in New Jersey’s 1st District, hosted several panel discussions to promote diversity in the legal profession and moderated a program designed to educate nonprofit leaders on how to manage public and private charities.  Mr. Freeman’s television appearances are many, including a spot as a contributor on “Its Your Call” with Lynn Doyle to discuss race relations as well as regular appearances on Comcast Newsmakers to encourage community involvement in the South Jersey area.

The recipient of many awards, Mr. Freeman was named the Young Lawyer of the Year by the New Jersey State Bar Association, received the Excellence in Alumni Leadership and Recent Graduate Awards from Rutgers University, Craig M. Perry Community Service Award from the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Young Urban Leader Award from the Urban League of Philadelphia.  Recently, Mr. Freeman was recognized with the “Reasons to Believe” Distinguished Alumni Award from the Kansas City Public Schools and was named as one of Philadelphia’s Top 40 Under 40 by the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Freeman holds a B.B.A. in international marketing from Howard University as well as a J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law.

Armond Mosley to Present Personal Branding Workshop

This year, we are pleased to welcome back, author, speaker and coach, Armond Mosley, to present a personal branding workshop for the beaux on March 7, 2015.

Mr. Mosley has given workshops at numerous venues around the country; his personal branding workshop was a favorite among many of our past beaux.  His seminar focuses on self-awareness, building and sustaining a personal brand, and goal seeking, among others.

Ebony Magazine featured author, Armond Mosley is an energetic and passionate thought leader in the personal, professional, and spiritual development space.  Obtaining a B.S. in chemical engineering from Howard University, Armond’s professional journey began at Merck & Co., Inc. in 2003 as a participant in its rotational development program.  After 5 years with Merck, Armond moved on to begin a career in consulting with Procurian, Inc. and currently serves as a manager, strategic procurement leader at Vanguard.

In 2007, Armond founded Kingdom Workshops, LLC. and since that time, he’s worked with many civic organizations, colleges and universities, and churches to provide solutions to the issues facing their respective constituencies.  Utilizing candor, transparency, and humor, Armond provides seminar attendees with a pragmatic approach to secure the very best that life has to offer.  In 2011, Armond published his first book entitled, “Rededication: A Story of Sex, Repentance and Restoration.”  He now has a second book titled, “5 Things Every Teen Should Know About Sex.”

Mr. Mosley holds an M.B.A. from Temple University Fox School of Business and Management.

Rich Young to Present Business Life Skills Workshop

We are pleased to welcome Mr. Richard B. Young, Jr. as the facilitator of this year’s business life skills workshop, to be held on January 10, 2015.  Mr. Young will be speaking to our beaux on a variety of topics designed to prepare them for the business world.  Specifically, Mr. Young will work with the young men on their elevator pitches, tips for interviewing, public speaking in the business setting, email etiquette and a host of other areas.

In his current role, Mr. Young is an investment banking associate in the Global Public Sector Group at Citi. Within the Public Sector Group, his team is responsible for leading the coverage of government investment funds, primarily sovereign wealth funds. Additionally, his team has secondary coverage responsibility for private and public pension funds, and the investment arms of select central banks.

Mr. Young began his career on Wall Street at Lehman Brothers in the Investment Banking Division. In 2008, he joined Citi as an analyst, focusing on Technology, Media and Telecom. Mr. Young has also worked in the Office of the General Counsel at Credit Suisse, the law firm Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, and the United States House of Representatives.

Mr. Young received a B.A., summa cum laude, from Howard University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received a J.D. from Harvard Law School and served as an editor of the Harvard Business Law Review.

Erika McDaniel to Present Fiscal Responsibility Workshop

For the fourth straight beautillion, we are pleased to have Ms. Erika McDaniel to facilitate a fiscal responsibility workshop.  Ms. McDaniel does an excellent job teaching our beaux about credit scores, creating budgets, prioritizing expenses and more.  Her workshop is always a favorite among the beaux.

Erika McDaniel is a Business Development Associate at Glenmede Trust in Philadelphia. With a focus on endowments, foundations and non-profit organizations, she works directly with Glenmede’s Endowment and Foundation team on new business development initiatives and the creation of marketing content and thought-leadership materials.  Prior to joining Glenmede, Ms. McDaniel worked as a marketing associate at Turner Investments where she managed general marketing responsibilities and supported acquisition and retention initiatives for asset management clients.  She previously held business development and marketing positions with Aberdeen Asset Management and SEI Investments.

A resident of West Norriton, PA, Ms. McDaniel volunteers her time with a number of organizations and currently serves on the Leadership Committee of Young Life Urban Philadelphia and the Admissions Committee for A Better Chance – Radnor.  She has held leadership positions with several non-profit organizations including the Tripod Foundation, Inc. the SEI Cares Board of Directors, and Upper Merion-King of Prussia Relay for Life.

Ms. McDaniel is a seasoned presenter and has facilitated financial, business, personal style workshops for not only the Kappa Beautillion, but also Junior Achievement programs for Burlington-Camden Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Operation Hope, the DC Summer Youth Employment Program, Villanova Law School Minority Alumni Society Mentoring Program, Family Life Christian Church in Lynchburg, VA and the 2014 God’s Girls Getaway in Baltimore, MD.  Additionally, Ms. McDaniel is a successful entrepreneur and serves as the CEO of Your Chic is Showing, LLC.

Ms. McDaniel graduated cum laude from Howard University with a B.B.A. with a concentration in marketing.

Khary Golden to Present Financial Aid Seminar

This year, we are excited to have Mr. Khary Golden as our guest speaker for the financial aid workshop to be held on January 3, 2015.  Mr. Golden will cover the all aspects of the college financial aid process including:  completing the FAFSA, state and federal grants, the loan process and details surrounding repayment.

Mr. Golden is no stranger to the beautillion.  As the Director of the Center for College Access at LEAP Academy in Camden, New Jersey, he has recommended numerous past beaux to our program, to wit, three past Mr. Beautillions.  A strong advocate for higher education, Mr. Golden has mentored and counseled hundreds of college bound students as well as organized college tours.

Mr. Golden holds a Master of Public Administration from Rutgers University.
